A recent survey shows that marketers continue to embrace new media, however there still seems to be a big difference in which platforms B2B and B2C marketers are using.
A few of the statistics from the survey that stood out to us include…
> 66% of B2B and B2C marketers utilized social media last year (an increase from just 20% in 2007)
> 50% of B2B and B2C marketers are putting videos online (a 25% increase from 2007)
> B2C marketers are 3 times more likely than B2B to include mobile in their marketing mix (52% vs. 18%)
> 76% of B2C marketers state they get strong results from SEM while only 48% of B2B marketers can say the same thing
No big shock that Facebook still ranks high for B2C, while LinkedIn is #1 with B2B marketers. But we did raise an eyebrow over the delta in Twitter usage with 70% of B2B marketers using the platform versus 46% of B2C.
