This week, many heavy hitters in the world of digital are gathering in California for the All Things Digital D9 Conference and it’s an event worth tracking. But beyond its line-up of influential technology speakers (such as executives from Twitter, Netflix, Groupon, Disney, Google and Microsoft — just to name a few) there is speculation that the exclusive conference may continue to be avenue for newsworthy announcements.

@CNNTech will be tweeting the latest announcements predicted to include the unveiling of a Windows-based tablet from Microsoft and Twitter’s new photo-sharing service.

But will Steve Jobs' brief return from medical leave to announce Apple’s new online service at next week’s developer conference (and the unprecedented release of the iCloud name beforehand) undermine what’s going on in Rancho Palos Verde? Keep an eye on your Twitter stream for details.
