Last week, we talked about the value of creating a Facebook fan page to engage your customers and prospects. So now that you’ve got a healthy fan base, how do you light a fire under your new word of mouth marketing platform?
Here are three suggestions to get you started:
- Solicit opinions. Find out what your fans are thinking about your industry, your brand, your products, your services. Encourage them to share and be willing to respond quickly when they do. See if they have ideas for how you can extend your offerings, or do things a little differently. Then reward them for contributing.
- Showcase your happy customers. When you uncover a true disciple, highlight them. Encourage them to review your product or service on appropriate online venues. See if they would be willing to record a video testimonial that you can post on your Fan page for others to see and comment on. Ask existing customers to contribute video testimony as well.
- Do something unexpected. Nothing gets people talking faster than something out of the norm. This doesn't mean you have to abandon your brand personality, but execute a few things just outside of your comfort zone and see what happens.
Most of all, don't neglect your fans. Give them a regular dose of valuable, relevant content and you'll find that not only will they come back for more, they'll even bring their friends with them.
