When it comes to social media, planning, posting, re-posting, and sharing of relevant content are all essential, but none of these really matter if you don’t approach your efforts with a desire for collaboration and relationship building. Without this key element, campaigns simply can’t communicate a true brand story.
A prime example of an easy way to do just this came to our attention through a blog post by Trish at HRRingleader. Detailing her introduction to Lois Melbourne (CEO of Aquire, Inc. and OnMessage client), Trish credits a blog exchange experiment as the catalyst for what is now a nearly two-year relationship.
A leader in providing Workforce Planning and Analytics solutions in the Human Resources space, Aquire prides itself in building relationships with its customers, and strives to bring that same collaborative approach to their brand online. Going beyond basic thought-leadership, Aquire participates in the HR conversation and has not only developed a deep following but strengthened their brand and reputation as well.
It’s a lesson to keep in mind when discussing social media strategies: as in life, staying flexible and open to new opportunities is often the best road to success. Planning and strategy is important, but you can build a stronger network by veering off the path when a chance for mutual contribution presents itself.
