We’ve all heard people say email marketing is going away. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The reality is we can’t get enough of it — email that is. A recent report from Forrester Research stated that:
- 62% of people check email on the weekends
- 67% check email while in bed
- 59% check email in the bathroom … yuk :)
- 28% check email while on vacation
The survey also states that U.S. commercial emails will explode from 420 billion in 2008 to 840 billion in 2013. With the economy putting a pinch on budgets across the country, email marketing can be an effective, inexpensive vehicle for getting your message across to consumers.
So if you’re not leveraging email marketing today… start. And if you are — don’t make the same mistake that most marketers do and let your Subject Line be an afterthought.
